Our client is seeking a highly experienced Principal Mechanical Design Engineer with a specialization in industrial machinery to join their team in Umuahia, Abia, NG. Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, analyze, and validate complex machinery, ensuring it meets performance, safety, and manufacturing requirements.
• Lead design projects from inception to completion.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including electrical engineering, manufacturing, and procurement.
• Develop technical specifications.
• Select components.
• Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability and cost‑effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing machinery.
• Drive technological advancements within the industrial machinery division.
• Shape the future of the product line.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
• Extensive knowledge of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA).
• Experience with computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
• Deep understanding of material science, thermodynamics, and mechanical stress analysis.
• Strong problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication abilities.
• Ability to make sound technical judgments.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification (a plus).
