About
Mastercard powers economies and empowers people in 200+ countries and territories worldwide. The Infrastructure Design Services team is responsible for the analysis and design of the infrastructure framework to fit application, platform, or system needs in line with Mastercard's operational standards and principles. The primary deliverable is the Technical Architecture Document (TAD) / Reference Architecture Diagram (RAD) detailing the infrastructure design.
Responsibilities
- Generate requirements together with architects, engineers, application teams, and users to ensure all high‑level requirements are met.
- Produce TADs, technical documents, logical flows, and models to keep stakeholders aligned on evolving applications, systems, or platforms.
- Maintain all architectural products and inputs in a current state, preventing obsolescence.
- Resolve internet architectural and operational problems affecting infrastructure, product availability, and performance globally.
- Research and evaluate new technology for possible deployment in Mastercard's internet infrastructure.
- Lead regional projects as assigned, overseeing planning, time and cost control, resource utilization, and implementation.
- Implement, manage, and support internet infrastructure components using current standards and best practices.
- Perform problem diagnosis, performance tuning, capacity planning, and configuration management for Mastercard internet components.
- Assure system stability and future compatibility by monitoring production execution of relevant systems.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of network, operating system principles, and web middleware.
- Expertise in one or more core functions related to internet infrastructure design and/or web administration.
- High energy, proactive, detail‑oriented, and able to function under pressure in an independent environment.
- Strong initiative, self‑motivation, and ability to drive results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong relationship and collaborative abilities, and organizational skills to work within a matrix‑based, geographically distributed project team.
- Willingness and ability to learn and take on challenging opportunities.

Compensation
- Arlington, Virginia: $175,000 – $297,000 USD per year.
