Our client, a global leader in specialty chemicals manufacturing, is seeking an exceptional Principal Process Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team. This senior-level position is critical for optimizing existing processes, developing new manufacturing technologies, and driving efficiency improvements across their operations. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and implementation of new chemical processes and technologies. Optimize existing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, yield, and safety. Conduct process simulations, modeling, and data analysis to identify areas for improvement. Develop P&IDs, mass and energy balances, and equipment specifications. Troubleshoot complex operational issues and implement effective solutions. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Collaborate with R&D, operations, and project management teams on process scale-up and commercialization. Stay current with advancements in chemical engineering, process control, and manufacturing best practices. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for project stakeholders. Evaluate and select appropriate process equipment and technologies. Required Qualifications: Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. Minimum of 10 years of experience in process engineering within the chemical industry. Proven expertise in process design, simulation (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS), and scale-up. Strong understanding of reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics. Experience with process safety management (PSM) and HAZOP studies. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities. Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical projects remotely. Familiarity with various unit operations and chemical manufacturing techniques. Experience in a remote work environment is highly desirable.
