Principal Production Engineer

About Us

Our client, an internationally active manufacturer in the field of manufacturing and production, is looking for an experienced and analytical Principal Production Engineer for its location in Steyr, Upper Austria.

Your Role

As Principal Production Engineer, you will be instrumental in optimizing our production processes to maximize efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. You will analyze existing production processes, identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and develop implementable solutions for process improvement. Your main tasks include leading projects for the introduction of new technologies and the improvement of existing production lines. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with quality standards, environmental regulations, and safety regulations. Close collaboration with the production teams, maintenance, quality assurance, and logistics is essential to ensure smooth operations. You will mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing within the team. Conducting feasibility studies, selecting and specifying production equipment, and managing investment projects are also part of your responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Completed university degree in mechanical engineering, production technology, or a comparable technical field is mandatory.
• Several years of relevant professional experience in production optimization, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma in an industrial environment is essential.
• Proven success in leading improvement projects and a deep understanding of various manufacturing technologies are required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication and leadership qualities, and the ability to interact effectively with different levels of the company are crucial.
• Experience with production planning software (MES, ERP) and CAD/CAM systems is an advantage.
