Job Summary

Responsible for leading DRS RADA’s IRAD portfolio and program management operations including scheduling, PO management, and overall performance of individual product development programs under senior management guidance. Works closely with Engineering to manage development programs or projects, ensuring timely completion using specific technical knowledge.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct daily execution of multiple programs within IRAD Roadmap to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals
  • Lead IRAD and program management operations including scheduling, FSR/event coordination, contract/PO placement, and quoting
  • Ensure proper tracking of program cost, schedules, and performance
  • Report program status regularly to management stakeholders
  • Ensure execution of material on schedule and budget for development programs and projects
  • Collaborate and manage cross-functional, matrix teams
  • Follow program management directives
  • Work with internal and external customers to obtain feedback on program and product requirements, performance, and timelines
  • Coordinate with business development, marketing, and sales to align IRAD Roadmap with customer needs
  • Address program development challenges proactively
  • Manage internal research and development programs within LOB and/or CO
  • Develop relationships with management stakeholders
  • Manage program management development including coaching and mentoring teams
  • Lead monthly program reviews for IRAD programs
  • Collaborate with Business Development for future opportunities and solutions
  • Develop risk management processes throughout program lifecycle
  • Partner on planning process and system improvements
  • Support and reinforce organizational mission, values, and culture

Secondary Accountabilities

  • Develop and understand process improvement principles (e.g., Lean Six Sigma)
  • May require 10+ years in DoD program management and/or production manufacturing
  • May require knowledge of DoD FAR procurement regulations
  • May require knowledge of MRP/ERP and understanding of electro-mechanical assembly, bills of material, demand planning, and supply chain purchasing

Qualifications

  • 10+ years relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain or Business degree preferred
  • Knowledge of program management tools and procedures
  • Solid leadership and management skills
  • Experience throughout program lifecycle including proposal development, requirements decomposition, statements of work, risk management, and continuous improvement
  • Experience with earned value cost accounting and reporting
  • Experience with metrics for assessing and reporting program progress, productivity, and variance analysis
  • Experience in finance, contracting, export regulations, engineering, logistics, manufacturing, and supply chain management
  • Strong problem solving and presentation skills
  • Experience managing manpower planning, project reviews, scheduling, and budget control
  • Ability to manage aerospace/defense programs as prime or subcontractor to military organizations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Program Management certification preferred (PMP or DAU)

  • Salary range: $146,497/year - $227,436/year
