PRINCIPAL PROJECT MANAGER - Modular Data Center Programs
Advanced Giga Inc
About the role
About AGI
Advanced Giga Inc. designs, fabricates, and deploys modular data center infrastructure for hyperscale operators. Our flagship products - the MDH (Modular Data Hall), MTCS (Modular Technology Cooling System), and MES (Modular Energy Server) - are factory-built, tested, and commissioned before they ever leave our facility. We are not a general contractor. We are an engineering-led manufacturer that owns the full lifecycle: design, fabrication, controls integration, factory acceptance testing, delivery, and on-site commissioning. Our clients include the largest cloud infrastructure providers in the world.
We are a small, high-impact team where your decisions directly shape outcomes on programs worth tens of millions of dollars. If you've spent your career inside large organizations and are looking for a place where your experience actually gets used - not diluted across layers of bureaucracy - this is it.
The Role
We are hiring a Principal Project Manager to lead the execution of multiple projects four our hyperscale clients. This is not a "track the schedule and send status updates" role. You will own the program from procurement through commissioning, coordinating across our engineering team, fabrication partners, equipment vendors, and client stakeholders to deliver on an aggressive timeline.
Our next slate of projects will run on overlapping schedules with deliveries targeted for Q4 2026. You will manage the full production pipeline, including staggered fabrication starts, long-lead material procurement for all modules, factory acceptance testing at our fab shop, freight logistics, and on-site commissioning at the client's facility.
What You'll Actually Do
- Own the master program schedule across procurement, fabrication, testing, delivery, and commissioning
- Place and expedite combined purchase orders for long-lead equipment (busway, pumps, heat exchangers, VFDs) within days of award, managing 12-18 week lead times across upwards of 40 modules in multiple projects simultaneously
- Maintain weekly on-site presence at our fabrication shop to monitor progress, workforce allocation, and quality - not from a desk, from the shop floor
- Coordinate FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) for each module prior to shipment, ensuring every unit is validated before it leaves the building
- Manage a compressed commissioning window (November-December 2026) with a dedicated commissioning team on-site continuously from first delivery through final turnover
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the client's program management team - you will be the person they call
- Track and report cost performance against firm fixed price contracts - identify variances early, not after the fact
- Manage scope boundaries clearly - know what's included, what's excluded, and keep change orders documented
- Coordinate with AGI's engineering team on design maturity, drawing releases, and any field-driven revisions
- Coordinate with third-party engineering consultants on interconnecting scope between modules and site infrastructure
Who You Are
- 15+ years of project/program management experience in industrial fabrication, modular construction, MEP systems, or mission-critical facility delivery
- You have personally led programs valued at $25M+ from award through closeout - not as a coordinator on a larger team, but as the person accountable for delivery
- Deep familiarity with MEP systems (mechanical piping, electrical distribution, controls/automation) - you can read a P&ID, understand a single-line diagram, and walk a fab shop floor without a translator
- Direct experience with factory acceptance testing, pre-fabrication QA/QC, and commissioning processes - ideally in a manufacturing environment, not just field construction
- Experience managing procurement for long-lead mechanical and electrical equipment with multiple vendors on parallel timelines
- You understand the difference between managing a construction site and managing a production line - and ideally you've done both
- Comfortable working with a small, senior team where there are no layers between you and leadership
- Excellent written and verbal communication - you will interface directly with a Fortune 10 client's program management team
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience in data center, semiconductor, or other mission-critical facility construction
- Familiarity with modular or prefabricated construction methods
- PE license or PMP certification
- Experience with BIM/Revit coordination in a fabrication context
- Experience managing freight logistics for oversized modular shipments
- Bilingual English/Spanish (our primary fabrication partner operates in South Texas)
What We Offer
- Base salary: $160,000 - $200,000 depending on experience
- Performance bonus tied to program delivery milestones
- Direct impact on a high-growth company at the intersection of manufacturing and critical infrastructure
- Ownership of your program - you set the processes, you build the relationships, you drive the outcomes
- A technical leadership team that speaks your language (engineering-led company, not sales-led)
- The chance to build something from a formative stage - this is not a mature 500-person organization with established playbooks. We are building those playbooks, and the right person will help write them
Location
Based in McAllen/South Texas area. This role requires regular travel to our fabrication shop, equipment vendor facilities, and client delivery sites. Candidates based elsewhere will be considered if willing to travel extensively.
