Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Principal Quality Analyst (Level 3) for the Troy Hill team in Elkridge, MD.
Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
- Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
- Compile matrices for executive management meetings (e.g., State‑Of‑Cell).
- Implement principles and operating practices to meet quality objectives and scope.
- Lead the resolution of quality nonconformances and repairs.
- Possess an in‑depth understanding of workflow/processes.
- Train and mentor peers.
- Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conduct quality assurance tests; perform statistical analysis to assess cost and determine responsibility for non‑conforming products or materials.
- Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
- Initiate Corrective Action Requests and work with suppliers, manufacturing, and engineering personnel to identify root causes and ensure robust corrective actions.
- Ensure corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation complies with requirements.
- Work from engineering drawings, diagrams, customer specifications, inspection instructions, manufacturing procedures, and checklists to verify items meet required specifications and quality standards.
- May specialize in design, mechanical engineering, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree + 5 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or contracts; or Master’s degree + 3 years of experience; or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Knowledge of Wide Area Work Flow.
- Experience with data analytics and statistical analysis methods and techniques.
- Experience mentoring employees.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with at least one of the following standards: IPC, J‑Std, MIL‑STD.
- Experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 Quality Management System and AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Certified auditor.
- Experience facilitating RCCAs with technical groups.
- SAP experience.
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
- Experience leading cross‑functional teams to resolve problems or issues.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Minitab, or equivalent tools for statistical analysis.
- Experience in Wide Area Work Flow.
Compensation & Benefits
- Primary Level Salary Range: $89,900 – $134,900 (general guideline; actual offer considers scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions).
- Eligibility for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses.
- Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and share company results.
- Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long‑Term Incentives.
- Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company‑paid holidays, and paid time off (vacation and personal business).
