Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Over 8 years of engineering experience.
• Strong background in AWS and backend development.
• Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of security architecture principles.
• Proficient debugging and system design capabilities.
• AWS Solutions Architect certification (preferred).
• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and hexagonal architecture (preferred).
• Exposure to mobile development (Swift) (preferred).
• Experience in platform engineering (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy scalable AWS architectures.
• Create reference implementations and proofs of concept.
• Contribute to production code and perform code reviews.
• Establish API standards incorporating REST and GraphQL.
• Implement event-driven architectures utilizing EventBridge, SNS, and SQS.
• Engage in both new system developments and modernizing legacy infrastructures.
• Design fan-out patterns for decoupled systems using SNS/EventBridge.
• Execute async workflows through SQS and event orchestration.
• Define comprehensive event contracts and version control strategies.
• Balance eventual and strong consistency based on business requirements.
• Apply event-driven patterns judiciously to avoid unnecessary complexity.
• Lead design critique sessions and technical explorations.
• Set and uphold architecture standards across teams.
• Manage architecture decision records and decision-making processes.
• Coordinate with teams to promote scalable and consistent patterns.
• Collaborate with DevOps and engineering leadership on initiatives.
• Design identity and access management patterns (Entra ID, Okta).
• Implement IAM and JWT-based authorization frameworks.
• Advocate for zero-trust architectural principles.
• Ensure adherence to federal and regulatory compliance standards.
• Integrate AI tools like Claude Code and OpenAI Codex into engineering practices.
• Establish AI‑assisted development standards.
• Enhance debugging, automation, and code generation through AI.
• Drive measurable improvements in productivity across teams.
• Communicate effectively with engineering and business stakeholders.
• Produce high-quality documentation and architectural artifacts.
• Connect technical decisions to business goals and outcomes.
