Principal Software Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure

Our client, a rapidly growing technology firm, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Software Engineer specializing in Cloud Infrastructure. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-based systems and infrastructure that support our cutting-edge software products. You will lead architectural decisions, drive best practices in cloud engineering, and mentor junior engineers. Key responsibilities include architecting and implementing CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure deployment and management using tools like Terraform or Ansible, optimizing cloud resource utilization for cost and performance, and ensuring the highest levels of system availability and resilience. Expertise in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is essential. You will also be involved in evaluating and integrating new cloud technologies and services to enhance our platform's capabilities. A deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and various cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is required. We are looking for a proactive problem-solver with a passion for building robust and efficient infrastructure. Excellent communication skills are vital for collaborating with remote teams across different time zones. This role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering, with a significant focus on cloud infrastructure and DevOps principles. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is expected.
