About the Role
We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to offer critical onsite support for a government HPCC system essential to national security. You'll thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment, leveraging your strong troubleshooting and technical skills, especially in a Linux-based setting. LNSSI will equip you with technical training on HPCC and ECL programming as needed to excel and support our customers effectively.
LNSSI was established to assist government entities focusing on homeland security, national defense, and intelligence by providing actionable intelligence and data-driven decisions.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve issues using scripts, maintenance tools, and technical expertise.
- Maintain required service level response and resolution times for supported systems.
- Analyze performance problems utilizing available tools and system indicators.
- Develop on-site modifications to enhance the effectiveness of tools and resources.
- Take charge of critical technical issues, creating processes or applications to aid team objectives.
- Test software and provide technical feedback to customers, third-party vendors, and development teams.
- Identify training opportunities and create training programs based on team goals.
- Show initiative in learning and mastering new technical skills.
- Assist with customer technical engagement in the absence of the Lead Engineer.
Requirements
- Security Clearance: TS/SCI with a full-scope lifestyle polygraph (FSP).
- B.S. degree (M.S. preferred) in Computer Science/MIS or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in Linux Systems Administration.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as SQL, BASH, PYTHON, PHP, PERL, etc.
- Experience in data analysis and scripting for big data system development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Enterprise Control Language (ECL) on an HPCC system platform. Candidates should be eager to learn HPCC/ECL.
- Prior experience supporting the Intelligence Community.
Optional Skills
- Familiarity with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud technologies.

Compensation and Benefits
The U.S. National Base Pay Range is $118,300 - $219,800, with geographic differentials potentially applying to certain locations.
This position is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
