What will you do?

We're hiring a Principal Solution Architect to define and drive the technical strategy for Amazon Shipping's partner ecosystem, enabling seamless integrations with enterprise shipping platforms, system integrators, and ISVs globally. You'll architect the future API platform, design enterprise-grade integrations for TMS, WMS platforms, and shape the Amazon Shipping App Center marketplace strategy.

You'll provide architectural leadership for large-scale, partner-driven enterprise transformations, combining technical excellence, business strategy, and ecosystem growth. This role requires deep expertise in API development, integration patterns, and distributed systems, plus influencing product roadmaps, establishing governance, and representing Amazon Shipping in technical forums.

Your solutions will impact customer outcomes—driving ROI, revenue growth, and market share through technical excellence and innovation.

You'll work with global system integrators and ISVs to validate architectures, resolve challenges, and ensure scalability, security, and performance of integrations. You'll lead thought leadership via publications and developer community collaboration, engineering next-gen integration patterns setting industry standards.

Key job responsibilities

Partner Ecosystem Strategy & Technical Leadership

• Define and drive technical strategy for partner ecosystem aligned with long-term goals
• Shape Amazon Shipping App Center strategy, enabling partner-built applications
• Establish and enforce governance frameworks for partner integrations
• Represent Amazon Shipping in technical forums and industry events
• Drive thought leadership through publications and developer collaboration
• Partner with senior product leaders influencing new products and services

Enterprise Integration Architecture & Design

• Design and implement enterprise-grade shipping integrations (Manhattan, SAP, Oracle TMS)
• Provide architectural leadership for partner-driven transformations
• Collaborate with global integrators and ISVs to validate architectures
• Act as technical escalation for architectural challenges
• Engineer next-gen integration patterns using REST APIs, MCPs, EDI

API Platform Evolution & Developer Experience

• Lead evolution of API platform enabling advanced partner use cases

A day in the life

Balance technical depth with strategic influence. Mornings reviewing integration metrics, meeting integrators, validating architectures, designing API enhancements, and guiding engineering. Afternoons focus on strategy, presenting roadmaps, shaping ecosystem strategy, facilitating reviews, mentoring, and community engagement. Collaborate across teams and customers to turn challenges into scalable solutions enabling ecosystem growth.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
• Experience developing technology solutions and evangelizing IT transformation roadmaps toward cloud computing
• Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences including C-level, training, workshops, publications
• 10+ years in enterprise-scale, technology-driven logistics, shipping, or supply chain solutions

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation
• Knowledge of large scale automation and workflow management
• Knowledge of database design and implementation
• Strong presentation and whiteboarding skills, comfortable with executives, IT management, and developers

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $182,800 - $247,300 USD annually depending on location and experience. Package includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
