An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and professionally registered Principal Structural Engineer (Industrial project experience) to join a leading engineering environment delivering multidisciplinary infrastructure and industrial projects.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across complex engineering projects while managing project delivery, client relationships, commercial performance, and team development. This role is suited to a hands-on engineering leader with strong technical expertise, proven project management capability, and the ability to lead high-performing engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership

• Lead and oversee civil engineering projects from feasibility through to construction and handover
• Ensure engineering deliverables meet industry standards, statutory requirements, and client expectations
• Review and approve technical reports, calculations, specifications, and construction drawings
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
• Ensure compliance with ECSA professional standards and engineering best practices

Project Management

• Manage multidisciplinary engineering projects across scope, budget, quality, and schedule
• Lead engineering, drafting, and project delivery teams
• Oversee project planning, resource allocation, procurement support, and construction monitoring
• Manage subcontractors, vendors, and project documentation
• Ensure accurate forecasting, invoicing, reporting, and commercial management of projects

Minimum Requirements

• BSc / BEng Degree in Civil Engineering
• Professionally Registered Engineer (Pr Eng) with ECSA
• Minimum 10 years’ Industrial project experience such as Chemical, Oil & Gas, Power Generation or mining sectors.
• Proven experience leading engineering projects and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong understanding of civil infrastructure, concrete, and steel structure design
• Experience within industrial or infrastructure environments will be advantageous

• Contribute to strategic project pursuits and tender processes

Financial & Operational Performance

• Manage project profitability and cost performance
• Monitor project budgets, invoicing, and debtor management
• Ensure projects are delivered within allocated hours and approved budgets
• Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
