Our Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Principal Engineer for our Civil & Structural Engineering Practice in the Washington, DC metro area or Natick, MA. The role involves leading and expanding our Structural and Architectural Engineering consulting efforts, including business development, technical problem‑solving, field investigations, and client relations.

Responsibilities

• Lead business generation and client development efforts
• Inspect, analyze, and determine root causes of structural/building envelope performance failures
• Conduct and supervise analytical and computer‑based problem‑solving projects
• Lead field investigations and diagnostic surveys
• Prepare and present technical reports and complex engineering assessments
• Pursue continued professional development to maintain expertise
• Provide expert testimony where appropriate

Skills and Qualifications

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field
• Significant business development experience with a proven track record
• Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) in at least one state
• Ability to attract projects and manage a high‑performing team
• Minimum of 10 years of technical engineering and project management experience post‑graduation
• Outstanding professional reputation with an existing client base
• Experience providing expert testimony in dispute‑resolution settings
• Extensive experience in construction claims, dispute resolution, and litigation services
• Knowledge of architectural engineering and building technology is a plus, but not required
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and presenting detailed analysis and reports
• Strong client‑centric leadership and interpersonal skills
• Outstanding reputation and record of publications
• Dedication to quality and accuracy

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: USD $ - USD $ per year, commensurate with experience. Total compensation may include an annual bonus and a 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.
