About the Role
As a Systems Engineer Advisor you will help manages design of server and application architectures. Manages the administrative operation and maintenance of server hardware and software. Maintains system security and establishes practices and procedures, monitors usage statistics and logs, monitors and remedies attempts to penetrate or corrupt server files. Develops baseline configurations and directs modification of configuration settings. Develops troubleshooting and incident response procedures. Troubleshoots system related problems. Provides team leadership and guidance to less experienced administrators. Remains current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments and applications. Recommends future direction or projects to management. Provides expertise and direction in the development or modification of software programs and applications to enhance an operating system.
Responsibilities

- Maintain system security and execute practices and procedures; monitor usage statistics and logs; monitor and remedy attempts to penetrate or corrupt server files.
- Develop baseline configurations and direct modification of configuration settings.

- Troubleshoot system‑related problems.
- Provide team leadership and guidance to less experienced administrators.
- Remain current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments and applications.
- Recommend future direction or projects to management.
- Provide expertise and direction in the development or modification of software programs and applications to enhance an operating system.
- Provide technical support for Enterprise level systems and services; from planning & design through deployment. These efforts include the full range of systems infrastructure engineering design; enterprise architecture standards; prototyping; integration; including; but not limited to; concept development; planning; requirements definition and analysis; systems design; integration; and deployment.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
- Experience with server virtualization (VMWare and/or Microsoft Hyper‑V)
- ITIL v3 Foundation certification preferred
- Has full technical knowledge of all phases of systems engineering
- Excellent communication skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow through
- Provides technical guidance and leadership to engineers with less experience Creation of effective user manuals;
- Detail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work
- May review the work of others and be able to detect errors or needed modifications
- Able to identify and resolve problems or inadequacies of systems engineering
Required Experience
- 5+ years of related experience
Required Technical Skills
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory administration and Windows Server platforms (2016/2019/2022)
- Experience with PowerShell Scripting and systems automation
- Experience performing troubleshooting for technicians and/or end users utilizing Service Now ticketing system.
- Strong experience with server virtualization (VMWare and/or Microsoft Hyper‑V)
- Participate in project planning and management, providing technical guidance and expertise as needed.
