About the role
Our client, a major player in the telecommunications sector, is seeking a highly experienced Principal Telecommunications Network Architect to lead the design and evolution of their network infrastructure in Kaduna, Kaduna, NG . This is a critical, on-site role responsible for shaping the future of our client's network, ensuring it is robust, scalable, secure, and efficient. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of telecommunications technologies, network protocols, and architecture design principles. You will lead strategic initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and provide expert technical guidance to ensure the successful implementation of complex network solutions. This is not a remote position and requires a dedicated professional committed to working from our Kaduna office.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the architectural design and planning of next-generation telecommunications networks, including mobile (5G/6G), fixed-line, and data center infrastructure. Develop high-level and detailed network designs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements. Evaluate emerging technologies and vendor solutions, making recommendations for adoption and integration. Oversee the implementation of network upgrades and new deployments, ensuring minimal disruption to services. Develop and maintain network architecture documentation, standards, and best practices. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and product development teams to ensure cohesive strategy and execution. Provide expert technical leadership and mentorship to network engineering teams. Conduct feasibility studies and performance analyses for proposed network solutions. Manage relationships with key technology vendors and partners. Ensure network designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and security policies. The successful candidate will hold a Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in telecommunications network architecture and design is mandatory, with significant experience in mobile network technologies and IP networking. Proven experience in designing large-scale, complex telecommunications networks is essential. Deep knowledge of protocols such as TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, and OSPF is required. Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, SDN/NFV, and cybersecurity principles is highly advantageous. Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills are paramount for this role.
