Principal Wireless Simulation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Enhancing and extending MATLAB-based system-level simulators for 5G NR networks within an existing framework
• Developing new simulation features, executing test scenarios, analyzing system performance
• Performing end-to-end system evaluations - coverage and SINR analysis, interference modeling (co-channel, adjacent channel, inter-system coexistence), propagation/channel modeling using 3GPP TR 38.901 and ITU-R models
• Conducting coexistence and spectrum-sharing studies
• Validating simulation assumptions, methodologies, & outputs against 3GPP and ITU-R standards
• Translating standards and regulatory requirements into executable simulation logic
• Writing technical reports, whitepapers, and external-facing deliverables
• Contributing as a technical authority within a high-visibility RF/Spectrum Engineering team

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience in wireless communications systems engineering
• Deep expertise in MATLAB-based system and/or link-level simulation
• Hands-on experience with 4G/5G system-level simulations
• Strong understanding of 3GPP RAN standards, 5G NR architecture, and PHY layer behavior
• Experience with 3GPP-based channel models (location-based modeling preferred)
• Strong mathematical and analytical background in wireless systems modeling
• Proven ability to produce clear, high-quality technical documentation and reports
• Ability to quickly ramp within and contribute to an existing simulation framework
• Experience with standards-driven or regulatory-focused engineering work is a plus

Compensation

• $110.00 - $130.00 per hour
