About the role
Role Overview: Goldman Sachs is seeking an analyst/associate to join the Private Markets Investing and Lending (PMIL) team within the Global Banking and Markets division. The PMIL team specializes in Private Equity and Private Credit markets, working closely with the broader US Fund Finance team in managing risks of the lending portfolio and facilitating due diligence at both deal and asset levels. As a part of this dynamic team, your primary role will involve collateral analysis, portfolio management, and continued monitoring of private credit and equity investments across various debt facilities.
Key Responsibilities: - Work with the PMIL desk on various stages of potential investment opportunities - Analyze the credit quality of structured transactions, provide insights on underlying performance, and assess potential risks & challenges in existing and live trades - Decode financing facilitys legal documents, create meaningful Excel Models, and assist in formulating statements - Manage corporate debt and equity investments, focusing on middle market lending across industries - Prepare asset summary reports, present asset-level diligence to senior management, and evaluate assets through investment memo review, industry research, financial statement analysis, and financial modeling - Reconcile and manage data, including asset data setup, database management, and client data validation while collaborating with multiple teams - Maintain client and stakeholder relationships, participate in project initiatives enhancing the PMIL business, and deliver on ad hoc business projects directed by senior management
Qualifications: - Bachelor's/Master's degree in finance with expertise in financial analysis - Understanding of accounting systems, principles, practices, and procedures - Knowledge of the Leveraged Lending market - Proficiency in MS Office with strong Excel skills - Strong analytical and logical mindset with the ability to summarize detailed information - Ability to prioritize workload, strong written and verbal communication skills - Team-oriented and self-motivated with a desire to learn new business processes - Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight time constraints and extended hours
