Our client, a prominent industrial manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Process Optimization Engineer to join their team at their facility in Benin City, Edo, NG. This role requires hands‑on involvement in improving the efficiency, quality, and safety of production processes. You will be responsible for analyzing existing manufacturing operations, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement, and implementing solutions that enhance productivity and reduce costs. This is an on‑site position, crucial for direct observation and implementation of process changes within the manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in industrial engineering principles, statistical process control, and lean manufacturing methodologies. You will work closely with production teams, quality assurance, and maintenance departments to troubleshoot operational issues, develop new process designs, and optimize workflows. Key responsibilities include designing and conducting experiments, analyzing data, and developing recommendations for process upgrades. Responsibilities
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize production workflows, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
- Design and conduct experiments to test process improvements and validate findings.
- Collect and analyze production data to monitor process performance and identify trends.
- Collaborate with production staff, engineers, and management to implement process changes.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies or equipment to enhance process efficiency.
- Train production personnel on new processes, tools, and techniques.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering or manufacturing optimization.
- Proven experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Proficiency in process simulation software and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab).
- Excellent understanding of manufacturing operations and production systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
