Well established company on the East Rand seeks a Procurement Officer with foreign buying experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Manage the full procurement cycle from sourcing to delivery
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and supplier contracts
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers (China, UK, USA, Turkey, and other markets)
- Identify and onboard alternative suppliers to drive cost savings
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure quality and compliance standards are met
Inventory & Stock Management
- Analyse stock levels to maintain optimal inventory and avoid shortages or overstocking
- Monitor slow-moving, obsolete, and high-risk inventory
- Forecast demand based on sales trends and operational requirements
- Manage reorder levels and implement effective safety stock strategies
- Improve inventory turnover and working capital efficiency
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare detailed procurement and inventory reports for management
- Analyse costing structures, pricing, margins, and landed costs
- Evaluate supplier lead times and their impact on operations
- Provide strategic insights to improve efficiency and profitability
- Compile monthly reports on stock movement, procurement spend, and margin performance
Systems & Administration
- Utilise ERP systems such as Sage Evolution for procurement and inventory management
- Ensure accurate data capturing and maintenance
- Maintain high levels of data integrity for reporting and audit purposes
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification (advantageous)
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in procurement, purchasing, or inventory management (manufacturing/industrial environment preferred)
- Proven experience managing international suppliers
- Experience with ERP systems (Sage Evolution or similar)
- Advanced computer literacy, particularly in Excel
- Foreign procurement experience essential

Package & Remuneration
