You will be joining Alaan, the Middle Easts first AI-powered spend management platform, as a Recon Analyst. Your role will involve owning the reconciliation process across internal ledgers, partner systems, and bank accounts. You will work closely with Product, Finance, and Engineering teams to ensure accurate reconciliation, trace mismatches, and design better reconciliation logic. Responsibilities

• Daily Reconciliations: Take ownership of daily and monthly reconciliations across internal ledgers, bank accounts, and partner systems.
• Variance Analysis: Investigate and document mismatches, identify root causes, and recommend system or process fixes.
• Audit & Documentation: Maintain a clean, auditable trail of reconciliations, variances, and resolutions.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate with Finance and Engineering teams to align reconciliation logic and ensure consistency across systems.
• Product Support: Partner with Product teams to analyze transaction data, track card usage and performance, and enhance reliability.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify automation opportunities for reconciliation and reporting workflows.

Requirements

• Experience: 2-3 years of experience in reconciliation, product operations, or fintech data analysis.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and Excel is essential, along with experience working with large transactional datasets. Knowledge of Python for automation or validation workflows is a plus.
• Domain Knowledge: Understanding of payment flows, card ledgering, settlements, and account balance systems.
• Detail Orientation: Ability to identify, trace, and clearly explain mismatches across ledgers and systems.
• Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and comfort working with cross-functional teams including Product, Finance, and Engineering.

Nice-to-Have

• Prior experience in fintech, payments, or neobanking environments.
• Exposure to reconciliation automation or workflow tools.
• Experience building dashboards using Metabase, Looker, or PowerBI.
• Familiarity with card transaction lifecycles and financial control processes.
