Product Designer

About Us

We're looking for a full-time Product Designer in our Lakewood, NJ Headquarters. This individual will be responsible for developing new product designs that meet the needs and desires of consumers. This role will have many duties, such as creating design concepts, drawing ideas to determine which one is best suited for the product, and communicating their plans to upper management.

Main Responsibilities

• Create and design product and packaging from the initial concept thru final execution.
• Understand products as an overall approach to execution including working within multiple styles and restrictions.
• Work collaboratively with team members to develop trend driven, forward-thinking designs for packaging and consumer products.
• Create concept renderings, layout designs, logo designs, package designs and presentations.
• Take photographs and video of products and packages.
• Stay current with design and marketing trends.
• Have strong creative concept, self-motivated, and good presentation skills.
• Act decisively and with a strong sense of urgency.
• Be able to unexpectedly change direction on a project without any conflict.
• Strong organizational, time management and prioritizing skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Design, Package Design, Industrial Design or equivalent degree.
• 3 years + of experience in Consumer Goods, preferably Toys and/or Novelties, and packaging.
• Expertise in Illustrator and Photoshop are required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Passion/knowledge of current trends in general as well as trends in fashion, pop culture, toys and electronics.
• Strong knowledge of die-lines, construction, typography and layout.
• Knowledge of print production with ability to review and correct color proofs.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
• Skill in brainstorming and ideation with strong sketching and rendering skills.
• Ability to handle a high volume of work while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of material and manufacturing process, specifically plastics and soft goods highly preferred.
