Product Designer – Backpacks & Luggage

Job Profile - Product Designer – Backpacks & Luggage Location - Goregaon

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Backpacks & Luggage Designer to conceptualize, design, and develop innovative backpacks, travel bags, and luggage products. The role requires strong understanding of materials, construction, ergonomics, and market trends, along with hands-on experience in product development from concept to final production.

Key Responsibilities

Design backpacks, duffel bags, travel bags, trolley bags, and luggage collections aligned with brand identity

Develop concepts, mood boards, sketches, and design themes for seasonal collections

Create detailed technical drawings, specs, and tech packs for sampling and production

Select appropriate materials, fabrics, trims, hardware, and accessories

Coordinate with sampling teams, vendors, and factories for prototype development

Review samples and provide clear feedback for improvements in design, fit, functionality, and aesthetics

Ensure designs meet costing, quality, durability, and manufacturing feasibility

Stay updated on global trends, consumer needs, and competitor products

Work closely with merchandising, sourcing, and marketing teams

Ensure timelines are met for design development and approvals

Required Skills & Qualifications

Degree/Diploma in Fashion Design, Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field

3–6 years of experience in bags, backpacks, luggage, or accessories design

Strong knowledge of bag construction, stitching techniques, and materials

Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW (3D tools are a plus)

Ability to create accurate tech packs and production-ready files

Good understanding of manufacturing processes and cost control

Strong creativity with attention to detail

Good communication and coordination skills
