Your work as a Product Engineer

As a Product Engineer at Technolution, you work in a multidisciplinary product team on our own high-assurance security solutions. Our products are used in environments where security is not an option, but a prerequisite. They are truly state-of-the-art: in this role, you will work with cryptographic encryption and post-quantum cryptography, among other things.

Your work is broad and has a lot of technical diversity. You analyze and resolve (embedded) software issues, perform vulnerability scans, and support our production and service teams with complex issues. Sometimes you investigate a problem in embedded C or Python, sometimes you look at the connection between Linux and the underlying hardware. The core lies in embedded software and the maintenance of our products. You are not afraid to look beyond the boundaries of your own knowledge – for example, to investigate the other side of an interface programmed in a different language.

An important part of your work is managing and improving our test systems. When a customer problem arises, you want to be able to reproduce, diagnose, and solve it. A well-functioning test system is crucial for this. You ensure that new use cases and findings are added to our continuous integration and development cycle.

Your work is often ad-hoc, and you will sometimes need to switch gears quickly. You might be engrossed in a software analysis and then get a request from a production colleague to help with a test system that has stopped. Or you help answer an urgent customer request. Together with the Product Team Lead, you determine priorities and ensure that the product remains reliable, across the full scope. You regularly consult with the Product Architect, who will also technically assess your work.

Qualifications

Typically you

You have:

• A completed HBO education in a technical direction
• Experience with embedded software (C and/or Python)
• Demonstrable experience with Linux on embedded systems
• Several years of relevant work experience (approx. 5 years)

You are:

• Independent and analytically strong
• Curious and eager to learn, also outside your own field
• Communicative and collaborative
• Flexible and able to switch quickly

Knowledge of or interest in Rust is a strong plus because we actively use Embedded Rust within Technolution. You have a strong interest in security-related products and no principled objections to defense applications. A B-screening and VOG are required for this position.
