The Role: Product Expert Customs and Entry Management

Altana’s mission is to fix globalization. Customs is one of the most consequential and underserved workflows in globalization and global trade. Importers struggle to navigate regulations, and traditional systems break down. Altana's Product Passports represent a fundamentally different model where enterprises proactively share structured, verified supply chain data with brokers and government regulators as a foundation for trust.

As a Product Expert, you will be the domain authority helping Altana build this future by translating customs expertise into product experiences.

What You'll Do

• Own the product vision for Altana's Product Passports and customs entry workflows.
• Define broker participation in the Product Passport ecosystem.
• Design workflows for trusted traders and brokers to share supply chain visibility with CBP.
• Identify and automate manual, error-prone processes.
• Build cases for prioritizing key problems with data and prototypes.
• Translate customs experience into product features.
• Serve as internal authority on CBP regulations and trade agreement rules.
• Use AI tools to prototype workflows and test ideas.
• Engage with customs brokers, importers, freight forwarders, and government teams.
• Collaborate on API design and data schemas.

Who You Are

• Licensed U.S. Customs Broker with 5+ years of experience.
• Experienced in filing entries, audits, CF-28/CF-29 responses, and duty minimization.
• Systems thinker understanding customs rules and system limitations.
• Tech-enabled and AI-curious, comfortable with engineers and AI tools.
• Clear communicator able to explain complex concepts.
• Builder ready to own solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active U.S. Customs Broker License.
• 5+ years customs brokerage or trade compliance experience.
• Familiarity with ACE, broker platforms, EDI/ABI filing.
• Knowledge of customs valuation, HTS classification, rules of origin.
• Experience with C-TPAT, trade agreements, or trusted trader programs is a plus.
• Prior product management or trade technology experience is a strong plus.

• $200,000 - $250,000 USD annual salary range.
