Pi started out as a moniker for “paytm intelligence”. Pi (𝞹 ) sounds nice, doesn’t it? While everything at Paytm is intelligent already, “Paytm Intelligence” to us is our effort to make computers intelligent enough to do more than what we know today. We have found that more and more of the decisions we take in our company are delegated to computers leading to lesser errors and a clear competitive advantage.

Over the past few years, we have continuously automated and improved our systems tech to get every inch of improved user experience and efficiency in how we serve our merchants and users. At the scale of Paytm, this has been an amazing opportunity to work on problems at a massive scale and also stay dependable, secure and compliant. The skills, technology and the people we have built to achieve this has been a unique advantage.

To get there, we have built a few key components like our own AI Agentic Platform (an engine that powers our internal workflows), foundation model for payments and credit, a voice‑based conversation stack, and a highly optimized DIY feature engineering stack to name a few things.

It all comes together in building a suite of solutions for enterprises and small businesses that will give them killer products to help them grow. We feel our QR code, soundbox and real-time settlements were a game‑changer for the merchants who did not have access to anything like that before. And now, with the agentic products that are in our pipeline, we hope to do the same for the next generation of merchants and users.

What are we building

We are building a full‑stack AI Agentic Platform that powers customer, sales and internal workflows end‑to‑end. Core capabilities are including but not limited to:

• Multi‑agent, multi‑modal customer interactions.

• Agents which can handle agent decision hubs.

• Evaluation engines to score and diagnose interactions.

• Generating insights from chat to improve SOP, Tools and Product.

• Flow fine‑tuning & deployment pipelines.

• Observability with agent telemetry systems; safety, governance, and cost optimization layer.

What are we looking for

• Create explainable workflows for multi‑agent systems.

• Design and operate evaluation systems for millions of conversations.

• Fine‑tune language models and their deployment workflows.

• Architect low‑latency pipelines for text/voice interactions.

• Ensure safety, auditability, and compliance by design.

• Partner with stakeholders including PM, Engineering, Design, Data Scientists, Ops, and Analysts to ship features across business lines.

• Create standards for prompt design, prompt improvement, agent traits, and safety checks.

• Build APIs, SDKs, and runtimes for agent execution.

• Mentor juniors and contribute to platform‑wide thought leadership.

• Experience with multi‑agent frameworks (AutoGen, LangGraph, Haystack, ReAct, Supervisor‑Executor patterns).

• Background in LLM ops including training, data pipelines, GPU scheduling.

• Experience with Voice & telephony integrations.

• Knowledge of safety model design or compliance frameworks.

• Experience building internal developer platforms or SDKs. Product Management

You have built product(s) that are absolutely loved by its customers. If your product is loved by a hundred people, great; if loved by a few million, even better.

You have strong opinions and can explain why you have those with an objective reason.

Data Science

Your models have been deployed in real‑world applications and you can showcase the value to the company and business based on the work you have done.

Soft Skills

Able to demonstrate attention to detail in projects or products that you have built. Expected to be able to explain your choices with reason.
