Our Product Manager is responsible for leading the execution, evolution, and ongoing management of complex, highly regulated products within the In‑School Lending portfolio. The position partners closely with Technology, Operations, Compliance, Risk, Legal, and external partners to deliver compliant, scalable solutions while driving continuous improvement across product performance and delivery processes. Responsibilities will vary based on experience and may include executing established product and delivery processes or taking on more independent, complex product ownership and cross‑functional leadership.

How You'll Contribute:
Product Ownership and Delivery
- Serve as a senior Product Owner, providing day‑to‑day leadership for product delivery and representing the business throughout the development lifecycle.
- Own product decisions, balancing customer experience, business objectives, operational capabilities, and regulatory requirements.
- Define, document, and maintain product requirements, business rules, decision logic, and process flows.
- Partner with Technology to prioritize and manage the product backlog and re‑prioritize as needed to meet overall product and portfolio goals.
- Provide regular communication to stakeholders on product decisions, delivery progress, risks, and dependencies.
- Gather and incorporate feedback from operational, business, and technology partners to inform product enhancements and refinements.
Process Development & Ways of Working
- Lead the development and implementation of new or evolving product and delivery processes, including demand management, intake, sprint planning, and cross‑team coordination.
- Work across multiple business areas and IT teams to establish standard processes, documentation, and governance.
- Develop and deliver training, documentation, and standards to support consistent execution and adoption across teams.
- Support effective team communication and alignment across product, engineering, and operational stakeholders.
Compliance, Risk, and Audit Support
- Actively participate in audits, regulatory reviews, and research activities impacting the product portfolio.
- Maintain awareness of upcoming regulatory, compliance, and partner requirements and assess impacts to the product roadmap.
- Coordinate with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Operations, and Technology to ensure product designs and changes meet internal and external requirements.
- Track and manage audit findings, compliance issues, external partner requests (including FinWise), and related research activities.
- Ensure timely and accurate updates to Archer and other compliance or risk‑related systems and deliverables.
- Pull in appropriate subject‑matter experts as needed to support compliance and audit activities.
Product Strategy & Future State
- Analyze product performance and funnel metrics to identify issues, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Conduct competitive and market analysis to inform product positioning and enhancement opportunities.
- Lead future‑state solutioning, including conceptual design and early‑stage requirements gathering for product enhancements.
- Partner with leadership to inform and evolve the product roadmap in alignment with business strategy and regulatory timelines.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Serve as a senior leader within the Product Management organization, influencing outcomes through collaboration and expertise.
- Build strong cross‑functional partnerships and drive alignment across stakeholders.
- Mentor and support the development of product managers and analysts, as applicable.
What We're Looking For
- This role is intended for mid-level professionals with demonstrated experience; final level will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.
- Bachelor’s Degree - Business, Information Technology or similar area of study. Additional experience may substitute.
- Experience in product management, product ownership or a related role.
- Experience with student lending or financial services compliance.
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting audits and regulatory examinations.
- Experience working with third‑party or bank partners.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate ambiguity in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to deliver complex products within highly regulated industries, such as financial services.
- Knowledge of agile delivery methodologies and backlog management practices.
- Skill in cross-functional collaboration with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Operations, and Technology stakeholders.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make defensible product and delivery decisions within established governance and regulatory frameworks.
- Skill in designing and implementing scalable product and delivery processes across teams.
