Product Manager - Integrations
Helm Operations
About the role
At Helm Operations, we build the software that keeps the world’s maritime operations moving. From tugboats in Vancouver Harbour to offshore service vessels in the North Sea, our customers run their businesses with Helm CONNECT. And we don’t take that lightly.
We’ve grown from a small start-up on Canada’s west coast into a global leader serving many of the world’s largest maritime companies. Our mission is simple: deliver software that connects the marine industry like no other technology company.
But world-class software doesn’t happen by accident, it takes tough teams, ownership, and deep care for customers. That’s The Helm Way.
Now, we’re looking for a Product Manager - Integrations to join our Professional Services team on an 18-month fixed-term contract to support continued growth while a team member is on maternity leave.
Your mission
In this role, you’ll own the full lifecycle of Helm CONNECT’s integration portfolio, from custom client integrations (ERP, invoicing, HRIS, operational data syncs) to scalable integration products such as TVIB, SIRE, Fatigue Management, and future standards.
This role sits at the intersection of product thinking and delivery execution. You’ll decide which integrations become repeatable products and which remain custom engagements, while also owning the commercial and delivery success of custom integration projects.
You’ll work directly with customers, coordinate with Professional Services developers and Implementation Specialists, manage support escalations for live integrations, and mentor a junior Business Analyst based in South Africa supporting European client delivery.
This is not a traditional product role sitting inside a product org writing PRDs. You’ll be hands-on, scoping integrations, writing SOWs, reviewing data mappings, running testing calls with customers, and driving projects to completion.
What you are responsible for:
Integration Product Strategy (~25%)
- Own the integration product roadmap: define which integrations become productized offerings (TVIB, SIRE, Fatigue Management, etc.) vs. remain custom engagements.
- Identify patterns across custom integration work and turn repeatable solutions into scalable products with reusable templates, standard data mappings, and documented configuration guides.
- Gather and synthesize customer feedback, support ticket trends, and market demands to prioritize the integration backlog.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Sales to align integration product strategy with Helm CONNECT’s broader roadmap.
Custom Integration Delivery (~40%)
- Own the full lifecycle of custom integration projects: from initial customer request through ROM, SOW, development coordination, testing, go-live, and post-launch support handoff.
- Engage directly with customers to gather requirements, define data mappings and transformation logic, document solution designs, and manage expectations on scope, timeline, and cost.
- Produce ROMs within 2 business days of a customer request; deliver SOWs within 14 business days of ROM acceptance.
- Own the P&L on integration SOWs—scope, price, negotiate, and drive to signature.
- Coordinate with PS developers on build timelines, manage the 3-week testing window, and run weekly status calls with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Perform final QA approval, develop test plans, and ensure integrations meet documented requirements before go-live.
- Ensure all project documentation (Confluence, status reports, IDD) is current and accessible to stakeholders including Dir. PS, Account Managers, and Implementation Specialists.
Support & Stakeholder Management (~20%)
- Serve as the escalation point for live integration issues—triage, coordinate fixes with developers, and communicate resolution timelines to customers.
- Monitor integrations post go-live (up to 1 month), then run structured handover calls with customers and Support to ensure continuity.
- Manage communication across Dir. PS, Account Managers, AE/AM teams, PS Custom Dev, and Implementation Specialists—keeping all parties informed on milestone progress, blockers, and next steps.
- Provide detailed stakeholder updates via Slack and Confluence when requested, including task completion timelines, next customer calls, and expected close dates.
Team Development & Process (~15%)
- Provide dotted-line mentorship and technical guidance to a junior Business Analyst based in South Africa, supporting their growth on European client integration delivery
- Build and maintain reusable integration assets: SOW templates, testing document boilerplates, solution design frameworks, and standard data
