About the role
A well-established laboratory equipment and consumables company requires the above to manage and drive the various assigned product portfolios on a national basis, maximising profitability, controlling working capital, growing portfolios and achieving budgetary objectives. Minimum requirements for the role:
• A Grade 12 is essential for this role. • A science degree, diploma or certificate is pref but not essential. • Previous experience working within a scientific/laboratory environment is preferred. • Must be computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Managing and driving the various assigned product portfolios on a national basis, maximising profitability, controlling working capital, growing portfolios and achieving budgetary objectives. • Working alongside the sales team in order to assist them in growing and developing customers in the marketplace. • Formulating strategies and plans to achieve sales targets for each product brand. • Attending weekly review meetings with senior management. • Attending customer meetings with the Sales team and presenting various products to customers. • Arranging and conducting training at customers on products. • Conducting research into new market sectors with regards to various brands of products that are promoted. • Managing and overseeing international and local suppliers regarding products being represented by the company. • Working closely with the marketing manager and fellow product managers for support programmes and materials.
Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
