Product Marketing Designer

OPTIPAK INC

Newark · On-site Full-time Mid Level Today

About the role

About the Role

We are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Product Marketing Designer who understands how to visually communicate products, not just make things look good.

This role is responsible for creating product mockups, catalogs, and eCommerce visuals, while also taking ownership of how products are presented and maintained on our website.

You will play a key role in how our products are presented across client presentations, our website, and marketing materials.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Product Design & Marketing Materials

  • Create product mockups and prototypes to present concepts to customers
  • Design product sell sheets, flyers, and catalogs
  • Build eCommerce-ready visuals for platforms like Amazon, Walmart, and websites
  • Clearly present product features, specs, and benefits in a structured, easy-to-understand format
  • Organize product information into clean visual layouts (icons, callouts, sections, comparisons)
  • Develop templates and systems to streamline product presentation across multiple SKUs

Website Ownership & Coordination

  • Manage and maintain product listings on the website (add, update, remove products)
  • Ensure all product pages are accurate, complete, and visually consistent
  • Upload and organize images, descriptions, and product data
  • Identify issues or improvements needed on the website (layout, content, functionality)
  • Communicate clearly with developers to request changes, fixes, or improvements
  • Help ensure the website reflects the same quality and clarity as all marketing materials

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience in product-focused design (not just branding or social media)
  • Ability to translate product information into clear, compelling visuals
  • Experience with catalogs, sell sheets, packaging, or eCommerce listings
  • Comfortable working with and managing website content and product pages
  • Ability to communicate clearly with developers and translate business needs into actionable requests
  • High attention to detail—you don’t miss specs, features, or key information
  • Ability to think independently and structure content without constant direction
  • Strong understanding of layout, hierarchy, and buyer-focused design

Must-Have Skills

  • Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop (InDesign is a plus)
  • Experience creating product mockups and presentation visuals
  • Experience managing or updating website content (Shopify, WordPress, or similar platforms)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Amazon/Walmart listing images
  • Experience working directly with developers or tech teams
  • Familiarity with product data, spec sheets, or Excel-based systems

Important: How We Evaluate Candidates

We are not looking for designers who only create visually appealing graphics.

We are specifically looking for someone who understands how to present a product clearly and completely, and can ensure that same clarity carries through to the website.

As part of the hiring process, you will be given a simple product and asked to create a one-page sell sheet or product visual.

Who This Is NOT For

  • Designers focused mainly on logos, branding, or social media graphics
  • Designers who need step-by-step instructions for every detail
  • Designers who are not comfortable managing or updating website content
  • Designers who prioritize style over clarity and product communication

Why Join Us

  • Work on real, physical products with tangible outcomes
  • Take ownership of both product presentation and website experience
  • Be part of a fast-moving team where your work directly impacts sales
  • Opportunity to build systems and improve how products are presented across all channels

To Apply

Please include:

  • Portfolio with product-focused work (sell sheets, catalogs, listings, packaging, etc.)
  • A brief note explaining your experience with product-based design and website management
  • Examples where you translated product details into clear visual communication

We are looking for someone who doesn’t just design—but thinks, organizes, communicates, and owns how products are presented across all platforms.
