About the role
About
ieso are on a mission to build and deliver clinically safe, evidence‑driven AI that expands access to trusted mental health support and improves outcomes at scale. Our vision is to reshape the future of mental healthcare so people everywhere can feel better and live fuller lives, and the Product & Design team sits at the center of all of it.
The Role
This Product Owner role is a high‑ownership, high‑impact position at the intersection of product strategy and engineering execution, sitting at the heart of Velora, our digital mental health platform that helps real users get better through personalised, measurable care.
- You won't just manage a backlog. You'll own the delivery system that keeps our teams building the right things, in the right order, with speed and predictability, partnering closely with engineers, designers, clinical stakeholders, and commercial teams across the UK and US.
- We operate in a fast‑moving, mission‑driven environment. That means asking hard questions, pushing for clarity before committing to plans, and holding the integrity of delivery together without losing pace.
What You'll Be Doing 📋
- Own the backlog end‑to‑end – keep it clean, prioritised, and always connected to a product or business outcome before anything enters a sprint.
- Drive discovery and requirements clarity – engage deeply with engineering on approach and architecture, probe assumptions, and lock in execution only when plans are truly sound.
- Shape sprint formation and sequencing – make trade‑offs between scope, dependencies, and delivery confidence explicit and well‑reasoned.
- Track and act on delivery metrics – cycle time, velocity, sprint predictability, and blockers, working toward a 5‑day average cycle time and ≥90 % sprint predictability.
- Run sprint ceremonies with purpose – planning, refinement, review, and retrospectives that keep teams moving quickly and purposefully.
- Collaborate across strong personalities – hold your ground on process and priorities with engineering, clinical, and commercial teams when it matters.
- Write with precision – stories, acceptance criteria, and stakeholder updates that are crisp, unambiguous, and easy to act on.
- Use AI tools intelligently – accelerate documentation, remove repetitive overhead, and free your focus for the judgment calls that matter.
You'll Thrive Here If You... ✅
- Bring 2–3 years of Product Owner experience – with real shipped software and delivery systems you've built or meaningfully improved.
- Are deeply fluent in agile – Jira, sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, and velocity tracking are second nature.
- Have fastidious attention to detail – you spot an underspecified ticket or an ambiguous acceptance criterion before it becomes a problem.
- Bring strong product sense – you understand the why behind what's being built and make smart prioritisation calls.
- Are a critical thinker – you invest time upfront to surface risks and pressure‑test plans before committing.
- Communicate with clarity and directness – influencing stakeholders at all levels and giving honest feedback in the room.
- Embrace AI‑assisted tools to move faster – while keeping your judgment, product sense, and quality standards entirely your own.
Bonus Points For... ⭐
- Experience in digital health, mental health, or regulated software environments.
- Familiarity with API product concepts and the ability to engage credibly with technical stakeholders.
- Background in scale‑up or early growth‑stage companies where process needs to be built, not just followed.
- Exposure to clinical or research‑adjacent workflows.
Why Join Us?
We're not building another app. We're reshaping the future of mental healthcare and we hold ourselves to a standard that matches that ambition.
- Join a remote‑first team that moves with purpose and speed, values intellectual honesty, and genuinely cares about the people using what we build.
- If something's unclear, we want you to say so.
- If a plan is at risk, we want to know early.
- If a process is broken, we'll fix it together.
