Summary
The CRM Product Owner bridges Distribution, Marketing, and Technology to ensure the CRM platform supports producer relationships, distribution strategies, and growth objectives in the E&S insurance space. This role owns the product vision and roadmap focusing on lead management, pipeline visibility, and producer engagement.
Essential Functions
Product Strategy and Planning
- Partner with Product Manager and business leaders to define and communicate CRM vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with growth and customer engagement goals.
- Develop and maintain CRM roadmap covering lead/opportunity management, producer/agency 360° views, workflows, and integrations.
- Use CRM and marketing analytics to inform decisions and prioritize enhancements.
- Monitor CRM KPIs and user feedback to evaluate product success and guide improvements.
- Identify opportunities to streamline producer and internal workflows.
Backlog Management
- Own, prioritize, and maintain CRM product backlog aligned with priorities.
- Translate business requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and configuration needs.
- Collaborate with architects and engineering on CRM best practices and integration patterns.
- Balance quick-win enhancements with foundational improvements.
- Refine backlog priorities based on feedback and outcomes.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Serve as primary contact for CRM needs across Distribution, Marketing, and other groups.
- Facilitate workshops to understand producer journeys and translate into CRM capabilities.
- Partner with Marketing on campaign execution and customer journeys.
- Coordinate with training and change management to drive CRM adoption.
- Foster a producer- and customer-centric mindset.
Sprint Planning and Execution
- Lead sprint planning for CRM pod, articulating goals and priorities.
- Ensure user stories are well-defined and ready for development.
- Collaborate with Scrum Masters, engineers, designers, QA, and data teams.
- Participate in daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Validate completed work and coordinate UAT with stakeholders.
Qualifications/Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum 3 years as Product Owner or similar role.
- Minimum 2–3 years hands-on CRM experience; Dynamics 365 preferred.
- 2–3 years experience in E&S insurance distribution, sales, or marketing preferred.
- Experience with Agile frameworks required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of CRM concepts and insurance distribution/marketing.
- Knowledge of Dynamics 365 configuration concepts.
- Familiarity with insurance distribution channels and workflows.
- Ability to analyze sales and marketing data for CRM improvements.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Experience with marketing tools preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Power BI and Power Platform a plus.
