About the role

THE ROLE

As the Product Quality Engineering Manager, you will lead a high-impact team of engineers dedicated to the end-to-end quality of our hyperscale hardware. You serve as a technical navigator, guiding your team through the complexities of New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustaining production to ensure our manufacturing excellence scales with our growth. By overseeing resource allocation and operational policies across PCBA subassembly and system integration, you directly safeguard the reliability of products reaching our global customers. You will act as a pivotal bridge between engineering, supply chain, and global manufacturing partners to maintain a zero-defect culture.

WHAT YOU'LL DO • Drive Operational Excellence: Manage department results including costs, methods, and staffing while establishing procedures that align team performance with hyperscale requirements and organizational goals. • Champion Product Integrity: Own the end-to-end product quality lifecycle by establishing manufacturing standards and driving continuous improvements from initial design through field performance. • Lead Technical Problem Solving: Coordinate comprehensive failure analyses with global OEM/JDM partners, implementing swift corrective actions for complex technical hurdles to prevent recurrence and minimize cost impact. • Influence Design & Strategy: Oversee Design for Excellence (DFx) activities to ensure quality and reliability are baked into the hardware before high-volume production begins. • Foster Technical Leadership: Support the career development and performance of Product Quality Engineers, fostering a culture of accountability and technical excellence across the organization.

WHAT YOU BRING • Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to manage technical teams and department operations within high-tech manufacturing or product engineering environments. • Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in production quality management systems (PCBA/System/Test), failure analysis, and lifecycle management tools to drive data-backed quality decisions. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: A track record of influencing global partners and internal stakeholders to remove blockers and uphold rigorous quality standards across the supply chain. • Analytical Clarity: The ability to simplify ambiguous, complex manufacturing challenges into prioritized plans that protect organizational goals and minimize financial risk. • Purposeful Communication: Exceptional skill in translating complex technical data into actionable insights for diverse audiences, from production teams to executive leadership.

We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara office in compliance with Pure's policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
