Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Manager to oversee manufacturing operations at their facility in Kano, Kano, NG. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality production output. The Production Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all manufacturing activities, from raw material sourcing to finished goods delivery. You will lead a team of production supervisors and line workers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, and a proven ability to manage budgets, optimize resource allocation, and meet production targets. This position requires hands-on involvement in the day-to-day operations of the plant.

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing production schedules to meet demand forecasts and client orders.
• Supervising and managing all production staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
• Ensuring that all production activities are carried out in accordance with company policies, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Monitoring production efficiency and implementing measures to improve output, reduce waste, and control costs.
• Managing inventory of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to ensure optimal stock levels.
• Collaborating with the quality control department to maintain product quality and address any manufacturing defects.
• Maintaining production equipment and facilities, ensuring they are in good working order and scheduling necessary maintenance.
• Implementing and promoting lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Preparing production reports, analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs), and presenting findings to senior management.
• Ensuring compliance with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in manufacturing or production management.
• Proven experience in managing production teams and operations in a factory environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and supply chain management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in production planning and control systems, and ERP software.
• Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
