We are looking for someone with in-depth knowledge and understanding of the extrusion operations, where raw materials are processed through extrusion and mixing to create specific value-add food products.

Responsibilities

• The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the production area, ensuring that the operations are running smoothly, efficiently, and within the established quality standards. He not only manages the machinery and processes but also plays an integral part in coordinating between different departments to maintain a continuous workflow.
• Maintenance management is a critical element of the job.
• The production manager’s responsibilities extend beyond the technical management of the extrusion process to include leadership and human resource functions such as training, mentoring, and appraising staff.
• By fostering a collaborative and skilled team, the production manager contributes directly to the organization's operational success and product quality.
• This post reports to the Operations Manager of the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical management of the extrusion process
• Ensures that the manufacturing process runs efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively
• Overseeing the extrusion process to ensure the production of high-quality products.
• Responsible for managing a team of operators, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols and production standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment, troubleshoot any malfunctions, and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime
• Exercise quality control of food products – complying with international food safety standards e.g. FSSC 22000
• Monitor output for consistency and precision, making necessary adjustments to meet product specifications
• Meet production targets
• Maintenance management of extrusion and mixing
• Reporting
• Training and development of subordinates
• Liaison with other departments

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Qualified Artisan (Fitting or Electrical)
• At least 5 to 8 years technical experience
• Electrical ability is an essential requirement
• Ability to give meticulous attention to detail
• A deep understanding of machinery
• Leadership and good communication skills
