PRODUCTION MANAGER (UNDERGROUND DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM)

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Degree in Mining Engineering or Underground Mine Construction. Minimum 5 years of experience in underground mine development, including tunneling, excavation, support systems, ventilation, and dewatering management.
• Proficient in underground development systems: vertical/inclined shaft sinking, horizontal drift development, mine preparation works, shotcrete and rock bolting support, underground ventilation, drainage, compressed air, and transportation systems.
• Familiar with South African underground mining safety standards, blasting compliance requirements, and permit systems for specialized underground operations. Able to prepare method statements, development schedules, and ground control risk mitigation plans.
• Skilled in managing underground equipment (jumbo drills, LHDs, mine haulage equipment), workforce scheduling, and improving development efficiency, with strict control of risks such as collapse, water ingress, and gas/dust hazards.
• Familiar with underground quality inspections, concealed works certification, and capable of liaising with South African mine safety authorities.
