Production Technician

About

We are seeking a hands-on Production Technician who is comfortable working on the factory floor and takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly. This role is focused on ensuring efficient line set-ups, optimising equipment performance, and stepping in when technical issues arise — because in production, timing really is everything.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure production lines are set up accurately and efficiently to meet operational demands
• Perform tool changes and oversee correct set-up procedures across all manufacturing equipment
• Optimise machine performance to achieve high availability, efficiency, and minimal scrap
• Ensure feeders, drillers, and coilers are correctly set and support supervisors with fine adjustments
• Capture order details and parameters on the Manufacturing Execution System
• Assist with production planning and scheduling to maintain workflow continuity
• Provide support during breakdowns and carry out technical repairs to minimise downtime
• Assist with maintenance activities, continuous improvement initiatives, and installations
• Manage and monitor critical wear parts and consumables to ensure availability

Skills & Experience

• Strong practical, hands-on ability with a proactive approach.
• Able to work independently and apply logical problem-solving skills
• Willing to provide after-hours support when required
• Energetic and adaptable within a fast-paced production environment
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Numerate with basic computer literacy
• Approximately 5 years’ experience in a similar production environment
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport

Qualifications

• N4 Electrical / Electronic Artisan or Millwright
• Red Seal Trade Certificate

Package & Remuneration

R 420 000 - R 480 000 - Annually
