Since the mid-1990s, they have focused on the development, production, and distribution of high-quality glass fiber cables for the expansion of modern broadband and communication infrastructures.

The product range includes robust outdoor, universal, and mini/micro cables specifically designed for demanding telecommunications and FTTx applications (e.g., FTTC, FTTB, FTTH). Manufacturing takes place at the German site under strict quality, environmental, and safety standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001), ensuring high reliability, durability, and functionality of the cables.

As a long-standing partner of the German and European communications industry, the company supplies network operators, energy providers, installation companies, and industrial enterprises, and is considered a reliable supplier for critical digital infrastructure projects.

About the Role

The company is strategically positioning itself for the future, specifically expanding its focus on promising markets and new application areas. Building on technological expertise and a high degree of in-house production, existing strengths are to be systematically transferred to new industries. This is a newly created position or an expansion of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Conception & Requirements Management

• Analysis of market and customer requirements (e.g., network operators, OEMs, data centers)
• Derivation of technical specifications (attenuation, bending radius, mechanical strength, etc.)
• Creation of technical specifications and performance requirements
• Technical feasibility assessment
• Development and design of new products

Prototyping & Validation

• Manufacturing of prototypes
• Conducting type tests according to standards
• Lifetime and aging tests

Industrialization & Series Transfer

• Support from laboratory to series production process
• Creation of technical documentation and data sheets
• Support of production ramp-ups

Interface Management

Close collaboration with:

• Production
• Quality Assurance
• Sales/Technical Sales
• Purchasing (raw materials)

Innovation & Patent Management

• Identification of new technologies
• Conducting competitor analyses
• Patent research and applications
• Optimization of the existing portfolio (design, material, and process)

Market Orientation

• Technical consultation of customers and support of sales in product training, trade fairs, and participation in technical working groups
• Leading the product strategy in coordination with relevant departments
• Creation of data sheets and catalogs

Economic Responsibility

• Conducting product calculations and market pricing in cooperation with Sales and Purchasing
• Calculation of manufacturing costs
• Target cost tracking
• Evaluation of investments

Location: At the site in the southwest of NRW. Working from home is possible one day per week. Reporting to: The position reports to the Managing Director and the Technical Director.

Requirements Profile

Education

• A highly qualified technical background, ideally a completed technical degree (e.g., optoelectronics), is ideal for this position.

Experience

• Ideally, several years of successful experience in product development or product management of fiber optic products, or optoelectronics/photonics products.

Personal Characteristics

• Strong self-motivation and organization are essential.

• Professional and personally convincing demeanor.

Language Skills

• Negotiation-level German and English skills are expected.
