PROFESSIONAL PLATFORM & LINUX ENGINEER (m/w/d)

About

In this position, you will be responsible, together with our platform team, for the reliable operation of our Linux and infrastructure platform for one of the largest e-commerce shops in the hygiene and medical products sector. Your focus will be on stability, performance, monitoring, and clean platform operation. You will work closely with development and Dev Ops to ensure that our systems run scalably, reliably, and performantly. In operational matters, you will be a technical anchor of calm, ensuring that our platform runs stably and reliably.

Responsibilities

• Operation, administration, and further development of our Linux server and workplace environments (Mint, Debian, Rocky)
• Configuration management with Puppet and technical operation of central platform services such as Git Lab and DNS
• Virtualization with Proxmox VE, including backup management
• Operation and further development of our monitoring (Zabbix) and ensuring reliable backup strategies
• Performing regular restore tests and supporting incident, problem, and change management
• Operation and monitoring of Percona MySQL, as well as analysis and optimization of the performance of business-critical databases (Shop / ERP / Marketplace)
• Administration of our network infrastructure (firewall, switches, routers, VPN) and support of central infrastructure services such as Zimbra
• Technical operation of selected business platforms (e.g., time tracking systems)
• Technical point of contact for defined platform and infrastructure components
• Ensuring stability, security, and clean documentation of our systems in close coordination with the Tech Lead Dev Ops & Platform

Qualifications

• You are passionate about Linux and platform operations and enjoy running stable and performant production systems.
• Several years of experience in IT operations or platform operations
• Very good Linux knowledge (e.g., Debian, Rocky) as well as good knowledge of MySQL, ideally Percona
• Experience with monitoring, backup, and virtualization systems
• Solid network understanding (firewall, routing, switching, VPN)
• Experience in a productive incident environment
• You work in a structured, responsible, and independent manner and keep a cool head even in operational situations.
• A strong hands-on mentality and enjoyment of collaboration with development teams and other departments complete your profile.
