Main Activities and Responsibilities:
- Conducting in-depth courses in core DevOps modules, including:
- Agile Development
- Containers and Orchestration
- Continuous Delivery and Deployment (CI/CD)
- Cloud Computing
- Machine Learning for DevOps
- Advanced Software Design and Optimization
- Systems Provisioning and Configuration Management
- Conducting further foundational and advanced courses in related subject areas
- Supervising project-based teaching formats, Capstone Projects, and Master's theses, ensuring high academic and didactic standards
- Advising and mentoring students to support them in achieving their academic and professional goals
- Contributing to the further development of DevOps curricula and application-oriented teaching and learning formats (e.g., industry projects, lab formats)
- Initiating and conducting research and development projects in the areas of DevOps, Cloud Computing, CI/CD, or related automation topics
- Building and maintaining collaborations with industry and technology partners to strengthen the university network
- Participating in academic self-governance and committees to actively support the success of UE
- Advising prospective students and participating in UE's outreach and marketing activities
Requirements for the Professorship:
- Completed university studies with a Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Proof of special aptitude for scientific work, typically demonstrated by the quality of doctoral dissertation and/or scientific publications
- At least three years of qualified professional experience, with two years outside of academia, e.g., in Software Development, Cloud Architecture, DevOps, or related fields
Your Profile:
- Proven teaching or training experience in at least two of the following areas:
- Software Engineering and Agile Development
- CI/CD and Automation
- Cloud & Container Technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Infrastructure as Code and Systems Management
- Machine Learning Operations (MLOps)
- Sound practical and academic knowledge of DevOps pipelines and toolchains
- Ability to conduct courses in English
- Teaching qualification in German is an advantage
- Commitment to application-oriented research, student engagement, and curriculum development
- Strong communication and teamwork skills

The eligibility requirements for a professorship are governed by the provisions of § 43 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Brandenburg/Germany. The conferral of the title Professor by the University of Europe requires the approval of the Ministry for Science, Research and Culture of the State of Brandenburg.
