About the role

Position Overview

The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of the Chief Operating Officer (OCOO)/Budget Team, is seeking a Program Administrator III to provide budget, fiscal, technical, and analytical support in the area of Grants Management.

This position serves as a backfill for Merit Position #19770 (MB II) and will support the Budget Team in maintaining effective grants oversight and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support all phases of the grant lifecycle, including grant acquisition, grant setup, budget loading, grant analysis, and reporting
  • Analyze financial and programmatic data to ensure compliance with grant requirements
  • Follow established guidelines and document internal grant-related processes
  • Provide fiscal and technical support to the Budget Team
  • Assist with preparation of financial documentation and reporting related to grants

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • Knowledge of grants management and public-sector budgeting processes
  • Strong analytical and financial review skills
  • Ability to interpret grant requirements and ensure compliance
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems preferred

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Experience supporting grants management, budgeting, or financial analysis within a government or public-sector environment preferred
