About the role
Position Summary
The Program Manager oversees all of the Open Door Recovery House residential recovery programming and Daily Sobriety Program participants to ensure compliance with Open Door policies, recovery standards, and faith-based principles. This role provides hands-on leadership, structure, accountability, and care while fostering a Christ-centered, recovery-informed environment. She oversees, evaluates, improves and implements all aspects of programming of Open Door Recovery House.
The Program Manager serves as the primary leader of day-to-day program operations and, alongside the Founder, becomes a public-facing representative of Open Door within the community.
Primary Focus
- Residential recovery programming oversight
- Daily Sobriety Program oversight
- Support and monitor the Mariah House program
Core Responsibilities
Residential & Daily Sobriety Program Oversight
- Oversee all Open Door residents and Daily Sobriety Program participants
- Ensure compliance with Open Door policies, house rules, and program requirements
- Oversee daily meetings, community service hours, and required recovery activities
- Track community service hours and program participation
- Ensure a recovery-informed, faith-based culture across all programs
New Resident Intake & Case Management
- Lead new resident orientation, including: Transportation coordination, Search of personal belongings, Drug testing at intake
- Develop individual resident goals and provide ongoing case management
- Monitor resident progress and compliance with recovery plans
- Ensure required drug testing is completed and properly documented
- Lead Selection Committee
- Coordinate services and resources to support resident success
Scheduling & Appointments
- Manage and anticipate court dates and required appearances
- Manage the communication needs of scheduling with residents, staff, and volunteers
Daily Sobriety Program
- Oversee daily sobriety program
- Ensure compliance with program expectations and recovery requirements
- Provide guidance, accountability, and support to participants
Transportation & Logistics
- Provide and coordinate transportation for residents
- Ensure transportation coverage during weekdays, weekends, and when CARTS transportation is unavailable
- Operate within insurance and liability guidelines
- Coordinate grocery shopping and household logistical needs
Recovery Leadership & House Activities
- Lead by example, modeling a sober, healthy, faith-based lifestyle
- Lead or participate in house meetings as needed (Bible study, Big Book, recoveryfocused groups)
- Enforce house rules and recommend policy revisions when necessary
- Assist residents in problem-solving and conflict resolution
- Administer random drug testing as required
- Demonstrate knowledge of licit and illicit substances and ensure proper handling and disposal
Safety, Facilities & Communication
- Identify and report safety concerns to the Office Administrator and/or Board of Directors
- Maintain confidentiality and protect resident privacy and house location
- Communicate general house and vehicle conditions and submit maintenance requests to Office Administrator
- Inform residents at least 24 hours in advance of repair workers entering the property
Collaboration, Reporting & Public Representation
- Work closely with Open Door staff, vendors, volunteers, and donors
- Compile and present a monthly report to the Board of Directors
- Become a public-facing representative of Open Door alongside the Founder
- Participate in speaking engagements and community activities as schedule permits
Position Requirements
- Belief in and commitment to the mission and vision of Open Door
- High School Diploma, GED, or higher
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- First-hand knowledge, experience and understanding of 12-Step recovery programs and Christian principles and faith-based recovery
- Experience in a social services, recovery, customer service, or client-facing environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the experience in delegation and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and sensitivity toward all clients
- Ability to manage high-stress and crisis situation calmly and effectively
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Equivalent (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook
- Valid Texas driver’s license
- Submit to random drug testing
- Actively participating in a 12-Step Program
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
