Program Manager

About

We have an opportunity for a Program Manager to manage a multimillion-rand programme of work in Kimberley, Northern Cape. You will manage interdependencies between projects, align outcomes with strategic objectives, manage programme-level risks, and report to executive stakeholders. Extensive programme management experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and acceptance criteria through quality assurance and quality control processes.
• Manage project changes through a formal change control process, assessing impact on scope, schedule, and budget before approval.
• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables with stakeholders and develop comprehensive project charters and plans.
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, maintaining registers and implementing mitigation and contingency plans.
• Facilitate regular project status meetings and prepare progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholder groups.
• Lead and motivate project teams to achieve objectives, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Conduct project closure activities including lessons learned sessions, final reporting, and handover of deliverables to operations.

Requirements

• A recognised project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or CAPM from an accredited certification body.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
• A bachelor's degree in project management, business administration, engineering, or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Strong understanding of both waterfall and agile project management methodologies with ability to apply the appropriate approach.
• Strong financial acumen including experience in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting for projects.
• Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana, or Monday.com for planning and tracking.
