Our client is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to empowering underserved communities. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Program Manager to lead and execute impactful community development initiatives in Yola, Adamawa, NG. This is an on-site role where you will be directly involved in projects that foster sustainable growth and improve the quality of life for residents. You will be responsible for the entire program lifecycle, from conceptualization and proposal development to implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of community needs, a proven ability to manage complex projects, and a strong commitment to social impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, and manage the implementation of community development programs in areas such as education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify community challenges and opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local government officials, partner organizations, and beneficiaries.
  • Oversee project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation and responsible financial management.
  • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track program progress and impact.
  • Prepare regular progress reports for donors, stakeholders, and the organization's management.
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities through grant writing and proposal development.
  • Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
  • Manage and mentor program staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and effective team environment.
  • Represent the organization at relevant forums and events.
  • Contribute to the overall strategic planning and direction of the organization.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in program management within the non-profit or development sector.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and monitoring community development projects.
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations.
  • Excellent understanding of community engagement strategies and participatory approaches.
  • Strong project management skills, including budget management and reporting.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and impact assessment.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Familiarity with the socio-economic context of Adamawa State and Northern Nigeria is a strong asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a challenging field environment.
