About the role
Our client, a prominent non-profit organization focused on humanitarian aid and development, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Program Manager for their initiatives in **Kano, Kano, NG**. This role is crucial for the successful planning, implementation, and monitoring of various development projects aimed at community empowerment and sustainable growth. The Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing project lifecycles, managing budgets, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring that project objectives are met efficiently and effectively. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and execution of assigned development programs in collaboration with local communities and partners. Oversee project budgets, ensuring financial accountability and efficient resource allocation. Develop detailed project work plans, timelines, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and challenges, and implement mitigation strategies. Coordinate and facilitate regular project review meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders. Ensure compliance with donor requirements and organizational policies. Manage relationships with government agencies, local NGOs, and community leaders. Prepare regular progress reports, impact assessments, and financial statements for donors and management. Supervise and mentor project staff, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment. Identify opportunities for program expansion and sustainability. Conduct needs assessments and baseline studies to inform program design. Represent the organization at relevant forums and workshops. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management within the non-profit or international development sector. Proven experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation (PME). Strong understanding of development principles and approaches. Experience in budget management and financial oversight. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in project management software and tools. Ability to work effectively in challenging field environments and with diverse populations. Strong report writing and presentation skills. Knowledge of grant management and donor relations.
