Role Overview

In this key position, you will take responsibility for demanding development and mechanical engineering projects, as well as for the overarching management of several projects within a program or portfolio context.

You will combine deep technical understanding with excellent project and program management skills, ensuring that development projects are successfully realized from idea through design, implementation, and commissioning, on time, economically, and with high quality.

At the same time, you will actively contribute to the establishment and further development of the PMO, governance structures, and strategic portfolio management.

Ihre Aufgaben

Projekt‑ und Programmmanagement

• Overall responsibility for complex development projects and programs in mechanical and plant engineering
• Leadership and management of a portfolio of related R&D projects, possibly as part of large-scale projects
• Ensuring target achievement regarding scope, deadlines, costs, quality, and business objectives
• Creation, maintenance, and management of project and program roadmaps
• Definition of project scope, deliverables, resources, budgets, and milestones

Technische & wirtschaftliche Steuerung

• Initiation and support of technical feasibility studies (hardware/software interfaces)
• Review, concretization, and further development of specifications and requirements documents
• Evaluation of components regarding reusability and market readiness
• Resource, budget, and schedule planning, including project controlling
• Risk, cost, and dependency management, as well as derivation of suitable measures

Führung & Zusammenarbeit

• Functional leadership and coordination of interdisciplinary project and program teams
• Appointment, leadership, and coaching of project managers
• Management of external partners, suppliers, and development partners
• Central point of contact ("Key Account") for internal and external stakeholders

PMO, Governance & Reporting

• Support and further development of PMO structures, governance models, and workflows
• Preparation and leadership of portfolio reviews and management committees
• Monitoring of project and program performance based on defined KPIs
• Clear and structured reporting on status, risks, decisions, and escalations to management

Ihr Profil

• Completed studies in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or comparable fields
• Alternatively: equivalent qualification with sound professional experience
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in project and/or program management, ideally in mechanical and plant engineering, R&D, or industrial automation
• Experience in managing multiple projects as well as project managers
• Good understanding of design, technical interfaces, automation, or embedded systems
• Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
• Willingness to travel and possibly to undertake an assignment abroad
