Our client, a dynamic and impactful non-profit organization committed to empowering youth, is seeking an experienced Program Manager for their George, Western Cape, ZA office. This pivotal role involves overseeing the development, implementation, and management of various youth empowerment programs aimed at fostering skills, opportunities, and positive development within the local community. Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic planning, development, and execution of youth empowerment programs, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and objectives.
- Manage program budgets, resources, and timelines effectively, ensuring efficient and impactful delivery of services.
- Oversee program staff and volunteers, providing guidance, support, and performance management.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, including schools, local government, other NGOs, and community leaders.
- Design and implement program monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track progress, measure impact, and ensure accountability.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities, contributing to grant writing and reporting processes.
- Facilitate program activities, workshops, and training sessions for youth participants.
- Ensure program activities are inclusive, culturally sensitive, and responsive to the needs of the target population.
- Maintain accurate program records, reports, and documentation.
- Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and forums related to youth development.
- Foster a positive and supportive environment for both program participants and staff.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify emerging challenges and opportunities for youth in the George, Western Cape, ZA area.
- Collaborate with other departments within the organization to ensure program integration and synergy.
- Stay abreast of best practices and innovations in youth development and program management.
- Communicate program updates and successes to the board, donors, and the wider community.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Community Development, Education, Public Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, preferably within the non-profit sector, with a focus on youth development.
- Proven track record of successfully designing, implementing, and managing social programs.
- Strong understanding of youth development principles and challenges.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated experience in budget management and resource allocation.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation of program impact.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of stakeholders, including youth, community leaders, and funders.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with project management software.
- Passion for empowering young people and driving positive social change.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the George, Western Cape, ZA region.
