About the role
About the Foundation
The Agatha Valentine Hope Foundation (AVHF) is a non‑profit organisation established to promote equitable access to reproductive healthcare, education, and social support for women and underserved communities in Nigeria. The foundation was created in honour of Late Mrs. Agatha Valentine whose untimely passing following complications from fibroid surgery underscored the urgent need to improve awareness, access to care, and surgical safety for women facing reproductive health challenges.
AVHF is in its inaugural year of operations, with an ambitious programmatic calendar that includes a Foundation Launch Week, free fibroid screening days, a patient support grant fund, and community outreach and welfare programmes.
The Role
As Programme Manager, you will be the engine of AVHF's day‑to‑day programmatic work. You will plan, coordinate, and deliver the foundation's interventions from free fibroid screening days to campus outreach, grant administration, hospital partnership management, and community welfare events.
This is a senior operational role in a start‑up NGO. You will work closely with the Executive Director, manage the volunteer corps, liaise with hospital partners, and own the monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) function. You will also lead grant writing, helping to build AVHF's funding base in Year One.
The ideal candidate is an experienced programme professional with a background in public health, women's development, or community programs, someone who is highly organised, credible with health sector partners, and passionate about making a measurable difference in women's lives.

- Lead end‑to‑end planning and delivery of all AVHF programmes, including Fibroid Screening Days, reproductive health outreach amongst others.
- Develop detailed event workplans, logistics checklists, and run‑of‑show documents for each programme activity.

- Manage the end‑to‑end AWHAF grant cycle from application intake, eligibility assessment, and Medical Advisory Panel reviews, to grant disbursement and beneficiary follow‑up.
- Maintain the AWHAF beneficiary database with strict confidentiality, tracking diagnosis, treatment pathway, and post‑surgical outcomes.
Volunteer Corps Management
- Recruit, orient, train, and deploy CHV cohorts for each programme activity.
- Maintain the Volunteer Register with skills inventory, deployment history, and performance notes.
Hospital & Partner Liaison
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for AVHF's hospital partners.
- Support the Executive Director in negotiating and finalising MoUs with medical institutions.
- Coordinate referral pathways for women identified through screening days who require further care.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)
- Own AVHF's MEL framework — maintain data collection tools, event registers, and outcome trackers.
- Produce post‑event impact summaries within 2 weeks of each major programme activity.
- Contribute key data and programme narratives to the AVHF Annual Impact Report.
Grant Writing & Fundraising Support
- Research and identify grant opportunities from Nigerian foundations, CSR funds, and development organisations.
