The Role

The Programmatic Trader is a data-focused member of the programmatic media buying team at ESB Advertising. This individual is responsible for the execution, optimization, and analysis of programmatic advertising campaigns across a variety of clients. They are able to quickly identify performance trends, troubleshoot challenges, and implement optimizations that contribute to the success of client campaigns and business goals.

Key Functional Areas of Responsibility

  • Perform daily account management of programmatic media campaigns via demand-side platforms for a variety of clients
  • Execute digital campaigns from start to finish including setup, implementation, optimization, and reporting
  • Optimize digital campaigns with a focus on KPIs and client goals
  • Monitor media campaigns for pacing, delivery, placement, and discrepancies
  • Perform reporting from ad servers and other platforms to track campaign performance
  • Analyze advertising data and convert insights into actionable recommendations
  • Communicate campaign updates, timelines, performance, and pacing to internal teams and management
  • Collaborate closely with internal team members to support client marketing goals and strategies
  • Participate in client meetings to discuss campaign performance, results, and recommendations
  • Assist in the development of programmatic media recommendations and proposals

Professional Skills & Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience with demand-side platforms and digital campaign management
  • Understanding of conversion metrics and campaign optimization strategies
  • Ability to interpret campaign performance results and make data-driven recommendations
  • Comfortable communicating campaign analytics and learnings in verbal and written settings
  • Experience with Google Tag Manager required
  • Experience with Looker (Google Data Studio) preferred
  • Experience with CRM systems preferred
  • Experience with The Trade Desk, CM360, DV360, Simpli.fi, Viant and Place Exchange a plus
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • BS/BA degree preferred
