About the role
Job Description
- Monitor and track project expenses, including labor, materials, and subcontractor costs, by individual job.
- Maintain detailed job cost reports and evaluate budget-to-actual variances.
- Work closely with project managers to assess and review financial performance on projects.
- Prepare and submit AIA billing applications and related documentation.
- Assist with percentage-of-completion billing and revenue recognition calculations.
- Ensure invoices are issued accurately and on time in accordance with contract terms.
- Track and reconcile billings, including identifying and resolving overbillings and underbillings.
- Prepare and update Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules.
- Support the monthly close process, including recording job cost accruals and journal entries.
- Reconcile project sub-ledgers with the general ledger.
- Assist with certified payroll reporting to meet prevailing wage requirements.
- Ensure payroll and project records comply with federal and state contract regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits and compliance purposes.
- Review and assign invoices to the correct jobs and cost codes.
- Provide support for accounts payable and accounts receivable activities related to projects.
- Assist with both internal and external audits as needed.
Qualifications
- BS or AS Degree preferred in finance or accounting
- 4+ years Job costing / Project accounting exposure
- 5+ years accounting
