A well-established real estate investment and development platform is seeking an experienced accounting professional to support financial operations across active development projects. This role will serve as a key point of coordination for development-related payment activity, budget monitoring, and invoice processing, working closely with senior leadership, accounting teams, and external partners
Key Responsibilities
- Review, evaluate, and facilitate approval of construction-related payment requests for active projects
- Analyze contractor payment submissions, including standard industry forms, and determine acceptability for processing
- Confirm receipt and accuracy of required documentation such as lien releases prior to payment
- Coordinate funding disbursements with the accounting team following internal authorization
- Support periodic internal reviews by assisting with development budget reconciliations
- Ensure all required developer documentation accompanies payment submissions and follow up as needed
- Assess monthly budget adjustments, flag potential issues, and validate completeness and compliance
- Prepare expense documentation, meeting notes, and scheduling materials as directed by senior leadership
- Generate vendor invoices, monitor outstanding balances, and manage routine administrative coordination
- Organize, maintain, and distribute project files internally and externally using shared document platforms
- Gather third-party invoices related to closings and development draws for timely processing
- Review and properly categorize incoming invoices before routing for approval
- Maintain tracking logs of invoices received, approved, and paid
- Submit approved invoices to accounting and follow up on unpaid items to ensure resolution
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Accounting or a related discipline preferred
- Experience with development-focused accounting, including project‑based financial processes
- Prior professional experience at a real estate development or construction-focused organization
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant accounting or development finance experience
- Strong understanding of development workflows, documentation requirements, and payment cycles
